Operating a business is about more than just providing a product or service and collecting a profit. Many times, a business will experience one or more unexpected problems, which could cause significant legal issues in California or any other state. One company is now facing this type of situation and is currently embroiled in a construction litigation case.
The construction company, Ranger Construction, is now facing a lawsuit after a recent accident at a construction site on a highway in another state. The accident occurred when a teenage girl died in a vehicle collision in May. The family of the decedent recently filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the construction firm.
Apparently, the victim’s car crashed into a tractor-trailer that was exiting a construction site. This caused a cement barrier to fall on top of the victim’s car. Another 29-year-old man also died in the same accident, when the car he was in also crashed into the tractor-trailer’s side, continued underneath the trailer and ultimately smashed into a wall. A 25-year-old female passenger in the man’s car also suffered serious injuries.
The family of the teenage driver claims that the construction company was negligent in managing the construction site. Regardless of the family’s claim, the construction company has the right to defend itself against the allegations. Any company, in California or elsewhere, that becomes the subject of construction litigation has the right to build a defense against the claims made by the plaintiff or plaintiffs who filed the case against it.
